LEAGUE RULES 2024 - 2025
1. The 2024-2025 Season will begin on September 28th, 2024 and end on May 3rd, 2025. This season our league will play a total of eleven times. If you cannot commit to the entire schedule, you should refrain from playing in the league. All tournaments will begin at 4:00pm on the dates below.
September 28 October 19 November 16
December 07 January 11
January 25 February 08 March 08
March 22 April 12 May 03
2. All league players must provide their legal name, email address, and phone number to Brad Everhart to aid in maintaining the scoreboard. It is also highly suggested that you join the Great Lakes Poker League Facebook group.
3. In each tournament, players will earn points based upon their finishing position shown in the schedule. Of the eleven tournaments played, each player must drop their lowest tournament score. The annual point totals will be based on your top ten finishes.
4. A temporary substitute player is allowed to play in place of a league member in a maximum of three events. More substitutes may be granted by the tournament director should your circumstances warrant it. Any person may be a substitute. However, if the Commissioner or Hostess deem your substitute to be a threat to the peace of another member or for any reason for the sake of fairness, your substitute may be vetoed. It is highly encouraged you only use your substitutes in the case that there is no way you can make the event. No substitute players will be allowed to play in the last three events unless scheduled at least four months in advance. This is to prevent “ringers”. Exceptions may be made for a serious emergency as determined by league management.
5. In a player’s absence they will receive the lowest number of points possible; 40th place – 0.0 points. In the event that multiple players are absent on the same date, all absent players will receive the lowest number of points possible; 40th place -0.0 points. Ex: If three people are absent there will be three 40th places, no 39th, and no 38th place.
6. In the event a player is unable to finish the season they may select a permanent substitute to replace themselves. This is subject to the same veto rules that apply to temporary substitutes.
7. If registration has not reached its cap, players may enter the Great Lakes Poker League as late as the third date of play.
8. This season will cost $2,000. This money will be paid up front before the season begins. *If a dealer is absent the extra money will be added to that event’s prize pool in the form of 5th place payout. The breakdown of these costs are available in the schedule.
9. Nightly payouts will be different between for events 6 – 10 than 1 – 5, culminating with the final event (11) offering massively inflated payouts. This is to encourage any player mathematically eliminated from any advancement to attend every event.
